I just felt like writing this stupid speech, to all my fellow platoonmates of MSHS NCC(Sea) Barracudas;
To my fellow brothers, i'm sure you'll agree that friday's training was honestly fucked up and demoralising, what with us not singing the NCC song. But we were told that there would be lyrics. Apparently it was wrong and hardly anybody sang the 2nd verse.
Fucked up too, with 2 people going (forgive the word) CRAZY, with capital C-R-A-Z-Y. With "the doctor" collapsing and half-crying half-laughing, and "corporal reliable-black-baldy" screaming at sergeant. In fact, i was tempted to remove my crest, throwing it on the ground and stomping it till it breaks. Because i'm different, i care a lot about my platoonmates. They are the closest family i've got so far. My grandfather whom is love so much has passed away recently, and my immediate family doesn't seem to give a freaking damn about me.
So screw the high rank and high post if that's what i'm expected to do to my juniors. Think of it, what have we been fighting for all these while? Is it to get Gold for BUC? Is it to gain reputation? Is it to prepare us for NS? Not exactly. That's not what i would fight for the most. I'd fight for us to gain the spirit of teamwork. I do not want our juniors to form a rebellion against us.
I would not say that it is totally kee yuen's fault. It's all of ours. Look at how fast "corporal reliable-black-baldy" and "the doctor" recovered. They persevered and even continued to do the road marshalling. I believe, that they may break our bones, but they can never break our spirit. Yes, we might be weak, but our seniors have overlooked something: Our brotherhood bond. We might have quarrels now and then, but hey, nothing is ever perfect. Scars make us stronger for life.
Even though we might have a lot of setbacks, we must never fail to remember how greatly united we are. So, all my fellow platoonmates, let us recover from this shock and carry onwards. It might not be easy, but we do have each other.

On a lighter note, NDP today was extremely exciting. FIRST CONTINGENT IN SINGAPORE HISTORY TO MARCH PAST THE PRESIDENT FOR THE FIRST TIME. Such great honour, nobody in their right mind would dare quit. =D Hope Yee Seng and Yan Zhao would choose what they feel is better, AKE or NDP.
